MATTHIAS ARNDT FEATURED IN ART EDIT MAGAZINE
Thank you to Art Edit and Duro Jovicic for your feature in the latest Issue 40 in the Buyers Guide section entitled "U P F O R T H E C H A L L E N G E".

Here Jovicic explores the intriguing topic "what attracts collectors to “unaesthetic” art and what motivates artists to create it?". He includes Matthias Arndt's personal response to Thomas Hirschhorn's practice and sculpture in his collection "Nail-Antigone" (2013). Speaking to this work, Arndt shares Hirschhorn’s point of view and approach that “art is not about beauty, nor precious material, but about the energy and effort the artist invests in each work, as much as the strength of the position he takes in his art.”

More broadly he also states: “Art enchants, disrupts, and provokes — each artist chooses the topics and means to achieve his (sic) aim accordingly. Art can also be a catalyst for innovation and can help us to come to a more critical analysis of the world surrounding us.”
