JOSEPH BEUYS, GERTRUDE CONTEMPORARY
The ARNDT Collection is delighted to announce the inclusion of two pieces by Joseph Beuys, "Mit Schwefel überzogene Zinkkiste (Tamponiert Ecke)" (1970) & "Akkumulatoren Doppelblatt" (1959), in the current group presentation "And This Time the Well Is Alive" at Gertrude Contemporary in Melbourne.
Curated by Amelia Winata, the exhibition also features works by Alexandra Peters, Alicia Frankovich, Burchill/McCamley, Darcy Wedd, Erin Hallyburton, Iris Touliatou and Pope.L and runs until the 13th of October.
Each position within the show is introduced as perverting industrial and bureaucratic forms through grotesquery in their work. Specifically, the exhibition frames these processes through the metaphor of digestion.
