soko Born in 1995, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lives and works in Berlin, Germany

Within her artistic work emerging artist soko recognises the hidden and invisible elements that shape our world, and thereby cultivates a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of things. Her multi-layered paintings become a body, a vessel through which energy and matter are exchanged with the environment. A play with depth and density. A microcosm of the natural world, with its own cycle of life and death. Inspired by the notion that everything in the universe is made of energy and matter, her most recent works invite us to observe the deeper relationship of all things.

Each work is a meditation on the mysteries of existence, an attempt to capture the essence of the invisible. We all live off invisible things. Although we often focus on the tangible aspects of our existence, such as our physical bodies and material possessions, there are countless invisible forces that shape our lives. At the most fundamental level, everything in the universe is made up of energy and matter. Even the solid objects around us are composed of tiny particles that vibrate at different frequencies to give them their physical form. These particles are constantly moving and interacting with each other, creating the illusion of solidity and substance. Following this idea, our lives are intimately connected to the invisible forces of energy and matter that surround us.

Soko’s work is exhibited internationally, including in Barcelona, Seoul, Milan, Buenos Aires, Canada, and upcoming in Panama City and Taiwan.
